No Online Co-Op For Halo 3 At Launch

CVG reports some startling Halo 3 news that originally appeared in EGM concerning the absence of an online co-op mode when the game launches in September. In co-op mode the second player will take control of the Arbiter through LAN or split-screen only. Bungee will continue to work on a patch after the game releases to implement an online co-op mode.
Frank O’Conner from Bungie stated in EGM about the absence of online co-op,
“"We're not dumb. We know that people want it and we're trying to make it happen. I think the biggest problem for us for online co-op is that we have a situation where you can be in a Warthog with five troops, almost a mile away from the other player. That's a significant challenge. And there's lots of design things you could do to prevent that from happening, but they would make it not feel like Halo anymore. If we can make it happen in a way that works well, we will - and if it works badly, we won't."

How about some Live co-op? If Halo 2 had that, I'd have played it more than once, I think...
i'm not a big halo fan... the only way i was going to buy this game was if it had co-op online play... but since it doesn't... then i'm not going to buy it
