Samus Doesn't Like Group Action, Provides Hot Solo Pics

In a trend only just now broken by Pokemon Battle Revolution, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption goes back to being non-multiplayer online according to an interview over at GamePro:
GamePro: Will Metroid Prime 3 have any online modes?Michael Kelbeugh:: No. It's something we talked about early on, but we only have so many resources. We opted to devote those resources to making a better single-player experience.
That's a shame, it might have been more fun than Metroid Prime: Hunters for the DS. Fortunately, I'd much rather have a phenomenal single player experience than some potentially half-assed online-multiplayer mode. I cannot wait to get my little hands on this game because if the previous entries to the Metroid Prime series are any indication, Corruption is set to be one helluva game! Feature: Q&A: online play a no-go in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption [GamePro]

Booo! Boo on you Nintendo.
I'd rather have both. I'd rather them set the release date farther back so they can incorporate both into the game. A great single-player experience, as well as fantastic online multi-player too.
Anyone else think the same thing, or am I just crazy?
I must be one of the few people who is over the moon that they have shelved the multiplayer and concentrated on the single player game.
The Metroid Prime games are outstanding single player experiences, but that would have to be compromised if they had to try and come up with a fully fledged multiplayer mode too. Halo 2 was a great multiplayer game, but single player sucked.
Metroid, first and foremost, should be about being Samus alone in the suit.
That said, if Retro can pop-out a multiplayer focussed Metroid between installments I wouldn't turn it down!
Cory, did you play MP2's multiplayer modes? 0_o
I'm disappointed by this news just as much as I was when they announced that Twilight Princess wouldn't have multiplayer (read: not at all). Metroid is very much a single player experience and (imo) the attempts at multiplayer modes in the series have never amounted to anything more than an interesting, yet flawed off-shoot.
The other factor to remember is that MP3 was supposed to be a launch window game. They've already gone over-budget and can't delay again. (Not that it's stopped Nintendo in the past, but) Nintendo needs this game out now. There are still very few "traditional hardcore" games on the Wii, and Metroid could fill that void easily.
I have to say that I am EXTREMELY dissappointed by this news!
These people delayed the game for 9 months... They recently pushed the game back once again. Yes, it's just a week, but still...
What in the world could they have been doing to this game for 9 freaking months!
It was supposed to be a launch game. The fact that they pushed it back for SO many months means that they were
NO WHERE near finishing production by launch.
I personally thought that the only reason why they would push it back so much would be to implement online on the game.
So for months I've been hoping, and actually thinking that it would have online play.
I just don't get it, why would they put an online mode on Metroid Prime Hunters, and not follow up with an online mode for the Wii. It makes no sence.
This is horrible news. This is a very bad way for Nintendo to start their online catalog. I mean come on, Pokemon?
I bought the game to have some online fun, and it sucks.
I reserved Metroid at EB Games, and I think that I'm going to get my money back. If anything I'll just rent the game.
I'm happy that Nintendo is expanding their market, but I'm beginning to think that they're forgetting about the people who kept Nintendo alive through out all these years. I've had enough of Nintendo catering so much to "non-gamers."
It's time to bring more games of substance to the Wii.
Enough of these freaking minigames.
Anyhow, that's my rant.
I'm obviously not taking this news to well... lol.
