25th Annual Golden Joystick Awards, LotR Online Sweeps Five Nominations

The bright, bright light of the paparazzi descended on the Malibu home of acclaimed MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar today amidst a furor of sudden press over the sudden celebrity. What's vaunted LotRO into the limelight like an It Girl with an indecently released internet sex video? Why, no fewer than five nominations for this year's Golden Joystick Awards, the UK's most prestigious game award that's celebrating it's Silver Jubilee this year!
Last year over half a million humans voted for 17 categories, and this year marks a quarter century of video game celebration. Head on over to the Golden Joystick Awards shortlist to cast your vote for various games of the year - some of which feature ironic corporate sponsorships (and unfamiliar, if you're a North American xenophobe), such as "The Sun Family Game of The Year," and "The Nuts All Nighter Award," which I'm sure goes to Fruit Brute for staying up until 5am to dye my hair blond for our Venture Brothers cosplay at Comic Con.
