Blast From The Past: Atari 7800

You know, somehow I just don't think this ad would be considered appropriate these days. What with the name-calling and the encouragement of keeping one's gaming antics under wraps from said gamer's parents. However, the anti-drug announcement at the bottom almost makes up for it. Almost.

What this blog post is about? Who keeps old consoles? Hm, may be I'm wrong. They may cost a lot in a few decades...
Hmm. An ad promoting a console with hardcore action titles and backwards compatibility with the most popular console in the world, using vain appeals to adolescent male insecurity, and attempting to compete against a far more popular Nintendo system.
In other words, it's just like right now, only in 1985.
@Jack:
Every Monday, I post humorous game ads from my old comic collection, and usually throw in a little commentary to go along with it. Last week, it was the Fabio ad for Ironsword.
Hahahaha there was actually a game called "Xenophobe"?
Hey - Xenophobe was fun!
Yes, whenever I get my panties in a bunch about video game dolts these days, I have to remember that there have always been video game dolts. Trust me, I was around back then (and gaming) and the landscape really hasn't changed that much.
But boy do I miss golden-era Atari.
Yeah, I could use a game of Yar's Revenge right now.
