City of Heroes Issue 10 Released
Last week, City of Heroes celebrated the release of it's newest free expansion, Issue 10: Invasion. The new storyline, involving an alien attack on Earth, spans over both City of Heroes and City of Villains. As always, NCSoft packs on the extra features with a brand new zone as well as new missions, inventions and threats.
As an added bonus, all prodigal player's memberships will be enabled from now until Sunday to play for free and check out all the new features. From the CoH website:
Any and all Superpowered individuals are needed immediately to stave off the Rikti Invasion that threatens all of humanity! To support the fight against this ruinous alien invasion, all former players in good standing have their accounts reactivated from Thursday, August 2nd through late Sunday night (August 5th, 8:59PM PST / 11:59PM EST). Anyone who has previously played City of Heroes or City of Villains is able to log in get into the fight! Spread the word to your supergroup or guild mates and online friends who might not be playing CoH that now is the time to come back and check out the great new Issue 10, for FREE!
I promised myself I'd be getting back into City of Heroes when I got back from my month long journey across the country and this seems like the perfect opportunity to pull old Prince Lucius out of the mothballs, dust him off and go kick some Rikti Alien ass!

Finally.
Man I remember the invasion at the end of Beta... this should be fun.
The invasion has definitely been a lot of fun. Zones will randomly experience an invasion with motherships firebombing a zone and massive amounts of Rikti teleporting in wreck havoc. On top of that, a new Rikti War Zone has been created with a bunch of missions centered around fighting the Rikti on behalf of a mysterious UN-backed organization known as the Vanguard.
