Clive Barker Poised To Be The Next Tom Clancy

The name Cliver Barker is synonymous with unholy terror. He lent his brilliance to the EA published title Undying. Even though it was critically well-received, the game did not sell as well as predicted. Now he has teamed up with Codemasters to bring another hellish tale to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 with Jericho.
Codemasters hopes to continue working with Barker on more titles and establish a working relationship similar to Tom Clancy and Ubisoft. Joe Falke, a producer working on Jericho, mentioned that Barker has a huge back catalog of work that could be used to create videogames. He also stated that Barker wants to “extend his reach to new audiences.”
Barker has been on record many times upholding the artistic merit of gaming, going back and forth with Roger Ebert on the ‘are games art?’ debate. He has worked with many mediums in his career including writing, illustration, film, and now gaming seems like another palate for him to work with. Some are unaware that he has written fantastical tales such as The Thief of Always that do not involve dismemberment and eternal damnation, rather a fairy tale of a boy who wishes to escape his mundane life. The potential of his work in the gaming industry has only just begun, and could be quite surprising.

well, I read almost all of his books and loved undying, but I wouldn't want his previous work to be turned into games.
especially not action titles.
but if he creates original work for games... well, that's another case :)
