Eternal Sonata Demo: Live And Gorgeous

Wow, this has been a crazy morning with all these console updates and now you can add one more awesome thing to your day. The long awaited Eternal Sonata demo is now available (in the U.S. and Canada) for download on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
I played a little of Eternal Sonata in Namco Bandai's room at E3, but as time was short I only really got to spend a few minutes with it. This new demo is jaw droppingly gorgeous and spans a few more areas than I was able to see at E3, all of them beautiful. Did I mention it was prettier than a drag queen's dress closet? (Heaven's Mirror Forest is particularly stunning.) The combat is terrific and you get to fight several different brands of enemies in the demo, some of which are quite hearty. While it may be amazingly cute, I don't think it will be by any means an easy game. There will be enough to challenge even the most seasoned RPG players and yet still be playable by new arrivals to the genre.
What are you waiting for? Go download it now!

I snagged this demo a couple weeks ago using my Japanese account. It's truly fantastic. The battle systems is highly engaging and your abilities change depending on whether you are in the light or in the shade. Oh, and it's absolutely gorgeous graphically and musically. Download it now!
Too... much... pretty...
Wow. Just... wow. And after playing this demo, I want it so bad, as opposed to the Blue Dragon demo, which I didn't even finish, I was so bored.
Definitely going to have to check this one out.
I worry it might be a little too anime for me (I respect anime--but it has never appealed to me). Whenever Inuyasha comes on Adult Swim I scream in agony, and the voice acting and designs for the humans in Elebits make me feel like there is a drill slowly going into my forehead.
Ahem.
Anyhow, the story sounds fascinating and the presentation inspired, so I'm hoping this one will grab me by...the hand...and not let go :)
I played this demo for a while before going to work today. Yes, it's so beautiful it's almost unbearable. The combat system is an interesting combination of turn based strategy and real time tactics. The RPG system will take a bit to get used to but will soon become intuitive.
I don't normally go for agonizingly cute saucer eyed JRPGs myself but this looks to be a zesty breath of fresh air if you need a break from more conventional looking games in the genre. There's certainly a palpable undercurrent of optimism (not the least of which comes from the spectacularly colourful art direction), even though the story ends tragically.
I downloaded this demo last night and was shocked at how absolutely gorgeous it was. My only major complaint was that it felt sort of juvenile; I think I outgrew my JRPG phase when I became a grownup. I doubt that I'll buy this game. Playing as an 8 year old doesn't really appeal to me, and the combat does seem a little outdated considering the perks of real-time action in many other games, but it might be a renter.
To Zaky: I think you're suffering from a severe case of losing your inner child. ;D
This will so be the first game I buy when I go get my own Xbox360. It looks stunning - and I haven't even played the demo!
