Gay Representation On Diversity Panel At WIGI Austin
Award-winning game designer and Sex In Video Games author Brenda Brathwaite dropped by the GayGamer castle recently to let us know about Women In Games International (WIGI) Austin, which is free for Austin GDC attendees and which is hosting a Diversity Panel on Saturday, September 8 at 1pm.
"Diversity Equals Dollars: Why having a diverse development team is good for your bottom line" reads the title of the discussion, and the panel includes 1st Playable Productions lead designer and handsome gay man, Mr. Jeb Havens. Jeb and other industry experts will discuss how workplace diversity and environments have evolved in the games industry over the last 2 decades, as well as the current climate for those entering the industry - and above all, the reasons that diversity is equivalent to profitability.
Remember, WIGI Austin is free for AGDC attendees, but you do have to register in advance right here. Ms Brenda will be moderating a panel and co-hosting a roundtable discussion herself, if you lucky Austinite GDCers need any more incentive to check out Women In Games International (which you shouldn't).
