Justice League Movie Is Apparently Underway

Rumors are starting to float around Hollywood regarding a Justice League movie that is scheduled to hit theaters in 2009. Reports are saying that a script has been completed and Warner Bros is starting the laborious pre-production costs:
Kiernan and Michele Mulroney's script has been warmly received at Warner Brothers, and the studio is envisioning the movie as a launching pad for others movies based on the Flash, Wonder Woman, the Green Lantern and Aquaman, as well as a shot in the arm for the Superman franchise, the site reported, citing anonymous studio sources.
Yeah, that's great that DC is finally getting off its ass and being serious about producing some big comic movies, but I have to admit that I'm really nervous about this supposed script since its writers haven't really done anything on their own beforehand. Let's just steer away from debacles like The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and focus more on repeating the awesomeness ofBatman Begins, OK?

As evidenced by Superman Returns, DC cowers before the Warner Bros. film producers. They have neither the leadership or clout to adequately protect their properties the way Marvel does - and nobody at DC is sticking their neck out.
I'm very excited about the prospect of a JLA movie (long overdue), but I'll try not to expect much because at Time-Warner it's all about politics and fear.
I mean, who'd of thunk Fantastic Four could have gone so far south?
Pff!
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was a great movie.
Furthermore, Batman Begins was only a so-so movie that, while better than the last two, was still nowhere near the awesomeness of the first two Batman movies (Batman Returns especially).
FOLLOW-UP:
I did not mean to imply that FF was produced by Warner Bros. (it was produced by 20th Century Fox). I was just using it as an example of the stupid group-think that goes on at a studio when they try to make things more "accessible".
AND League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was grotesquely bad. The visual effects alone were so painfully bad - I just can't stand to comment on the writing and acting... But, Burton's Batmans were sweet indeed.
