NiGHTS Official Box Art Revealed
The official box art for NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams has just been revealed and it is filled with all of the sparkly magic that one would expect from NiGHTS. They did a fantastic job conveying freedom of flight and the endless possibilities of dreams. The hallmark of solid box art still remains to be proven, will it sell the game to people who know nothing about it?
Notice the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection sticker in the upper left corner. Nintendo has not released any info regarding Wi-Fi gameplay other than weather synchronization and item trading. I’ve always seen NiGHTS as more of a racing game, than a platformer. You are racing around a given track, making laps until you collect enough crystals to move to the next lap of the level. It would be great to have some head to head racing supported, where you can tally up tricks performed, crystals gathered, against total time to complete the level then compare them on a worldwide leaderboard. If only they would have let me design the remake. /sigh

The Wi-Fi feature could be used to download holiday themed backgrounds, similar to the Christmas NiGHTS bonus disc Sega sent to lucky Saturn owners that had taken the time to register their game.
