PAX 07: PAA:OtRSPoD Coming To XBLA!!!
Yeah, I just like writing down the initials. And from this news, I'll be writing them down a lot more often: Hothead Games has announced that Penny Arcade: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness will be available to play and download on XBLA! Early 2008 will see this mind-bendingly self-referential game-about-game-people brought to the highest-profile game distribution dealie around: the Xbox 360.
Also, GameTrailers has made available the new super-cool trailer for Penny Arcade Adventure: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness that I was a-jawing about yesterday, so I figured I'd run it up the flagpole and see who salutes. Half game and half Adult Swim, PAA:OtRSPoD sure looks neat-o. The art style and the sepia-toned period/noir/cheese factor combined with Penny Arcade's trademark rapier wit could make for an awesome game.
Or a spectacular failure. Either way, it's their conference!

Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Coming to Xbox LIVE(R) Arcade
Seattle, Washington -- Aug 25, 2007 -- Hothead Games today announced that its highly anticipated Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness episodic game series will debut on Xbox LIVE(R) Arcade - the premier destination for digitally distributed, high definition original and classic games - in early 2008.
On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One is the first title in the downloadable series for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and the Xbox 360(tm) video game and entertainment system. Hothead is working with the Penny Arcade creators and adventure game pioneer Ron Gilbert in an intense collaborative development process.
"We're very excited to be bringing our game series to Xbox LIVE Arcade," said Vlad Ceraldi, Hothead's President. "We love Xbox LIVE Arcade's ability to deliver great content directly to gamers. Digital distribution lets indie game developers innovate and experiment with new gameplay concepts."
