PAX 2007 Wrap-Up: Photo Dump

Like a fleeting spring romance, PAX 2007 has come and gone, but the unfortunate emotional and physical scars will last a lifetime. Much was different this year—a new venue, more attendees, and a new take on an old Omegathon—but much also remained the same—beanbags, cosplayers, ramen. Wielding my trusty, rusty camera like a shotgun I managed to snag several dozen pictures, but befitting my skill as a photographer (which is to say, my complete lack of such skill) only a scant handful actually turned out. All the more precious after the loss of their brothers and sisters, I present the following golden, mostly focused glimpses of PAX, fresh to you from the show floor. Just hit the jump.

Games were played...

...castles were crashed...

...and proper nutritional guidelines were adhered to.

He loves it when you call him... oh, you get the joke.

The Gametap booth obviously came from the future. And in the future, people only play old video games. Weird.

The U.S. Army: "No Power-Ups, No Cheat Codes, No Easy Mode." This game sounds boring.

Ooooh, this must be so embarrassing, posing for a picture that gets blown up to be the biggest banner at a con only to find out later that you had something on your nose.

On Sunday afternoon the lights unexpectedly went out, and when they came back on Ms. Bimblesberry was gone!

Rock Band: Making being in a bad look like you're waiting for the bus since 2007. Actually the game looks really cool, but unfortunately there's no score system for flair and stage stylin's.

The pillars at the Bandai-Namco booth supported a cloud of awesome: Eternal Sonata, Culdcept Saga, Beautiful Katamari. Yes please.

Warning!: Metroids are attracted to double caramel mochacinos! Get the ice beam!

Spiked hair, a big sword, and a pocketful of moogles: Swoon!
That's it for my amateur photographerizing, but I wasn't the only one with a camera (thank god), the gentlemen over at the Weekly Geek and Joystiq have their own vacation photos to share. Well worth a peek if cosplay and people staring at screens get you excited.
