PAX 2007 Wrap-Up: Pink Godzilla

The PAX exhibitor hall is kind of dark. Maybe it's to keep the glare off all the flashing screens, maybe its to make those glowing signs really pop, or maybe it's to make the more reclusive attendees feel like they're in their natural habitats. Regardless of the reason, gleaming through the half-light every year is a pink paradise of retro gaming: Pink Godzilla. As if the name wasn't enough to make you fall in love, the shop—which hails from Seattle's International District and has a webstore—has the most adorable little pink Godzilla mascot and has even put out a cute little card game wherein you design your own video game. Hanging on one of the few pink fur walls that weren't papered in NES games was an awesome, I-wish-it-were-real, oversized card from their Pink Godzilla Dev Kit card game (seen to the right). Too cool.
I'd elaborate on all the nostalgic titles and imported delights they had for sale, but I refused to let myself get too close after Fruit Brute produced a collection of tiny Zelda: Twilight Princess figurines… which I covet. When it comes to capsule toys and other small Japanese collectables, I have a problem. But I snapped a couple of pretty pink photos from a safe distance, which you can see right after the jump.

Their booth was awesome, wasn't it? I picked up a new AV cable for my SNES and spent many minutes coveting old games. I never knew about them before, I'm definitely going to have to visit the store.
Give in to the Pink Godzilla. I go there all the time, and I still went and purchased a couple things at their PAX booth. I decided to go with some old-school lovin' and picked up Battletoads-Double Dragon and Psycho Dream for the SNES.
Don't forget to mention the cute guys that work there. That's the real reason I go...
