PC Gamers Get Their Ticket To Rapture And A Word About Spoilers

Welcome To Rapture

PC gamers were left out in the cold when the BioShock demo was released to countless acclaim last week on the 360. In a true case of better late than never, the PC version of the demo will be arriving tonight at 7pm EST. Elizabeth of The Cult of Rapture also reminds us to be sure and download the latest ATI and Nvidia driver downloads that will also be available to download today.

Regarding Spoilers:
Nothing ruins a great game like some jackass posting all the goodies in an unmarked forum post just for the point of ruining it for everyone else. Well, in classic Alfred Hitchcock style, BioShock mastermind Ken Levine has posted this message in the 2K forums...

If you're going to buy the game this week, I highly recommend you stay away from any forums that might have spoilers until you play the game through. Our goal in making the game was to thrill and, often, surprise you.

Please don't ruin other people's experience by revealing secrets in unmarked threads, and if you want to enjoy the game to its fullest, stay away from any threads that might ruin the fun for you. With a game like BioShock, it will really make a difference.

Best,
Ken

As Tiny and I pack our bags for Boston to attend tonight's BioShock launch party, I think about how great it is that finally, there is a game that is story driven enough to warrant such a warning. It's about time.

(For those of you not getting the earlier Hitchcock reference, the great director published a notice that refused to allow anyone to be seated in Psycho after the movie had started and there was a massive ad campaign beseeching people not to give away the surprise ending)

Cool, have fun at the launch party!! Should be a great time.

The "don't spoil the ending" message from Levine also reminded me of a similar plea at the end of the 1956 version of "The Bad Seed." :)

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
