Remember Crisis Core?

ff7cc60.jpg

The Japanese gaming mag V Jump recently ran a few pages on the game we haven't heard much about in the last few months--Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core on the PSP. Besides showcasing the beautiful Crisis Core PSP theme and a necklace with Zack's buster sword dangling from it that looks almost like a loose razor blade (that can't be comfortable), we can glean some new information about the game.

Summons will be playing some sort of role, with the image of Odin shown as proof. It has yet to be seen if this is something Zack and his party will be able to employ, or if Odin plays some part in the story, perhaps a boss battle. Even more exciting, Tifa will be making an appearance in the game (contrary to my love of martyrs, I always preferred her over Aeris) somewhere in Nibelung. Why she is wearing a painfully ugly cowgirl outfit is completely beyond my comprehension. Has Tifa, wearer of tight leather skirts and little black gloves, ever shown a tendency for line dancing?

And of course, lots of obligatory images of Jenova and Sephiroth.

I always felt like the biggest hole in the story of VII was what actually happened between Zack, Cloud, and Sephiroth. It will be very satisfying to see this portion of the story panned out. Images here.

To be fair, she was wearing the silly cowgirl outfit in the flashback sequences of the original game. I guess she, thankfully, grew out of it.

I seem to remember Tifa wearing a giant hat in the FFVII flashbacks, but I never took it to be that she was all decked out in full cowgirl attire.

Oh, and what's up with the beach scenes? I mean, daddy like, but still wtf?

I'm just glad I'm not the only one that prefered Tifa over Aeris. Validating, really :)

As for the beach scenes, they may be at Costa del Sol, which was a beach area in the original game.

I always liked how ambiguous the game was with the past. I just hope that this does better than dirge.
