Silent Hill Demo Escapes Onto Interwebs

sholeak.jpg

Wait — there's a demo of Silent Hill Origins and nobody told me?

Apparently, a demo of Konami's upcoming PSP entry in the horror franchise was leaked onto the internet, available for download on various torrent sites. Karl Jeffery, CEO and founder of developer Climax, told GamesIndustry.biz that he is certain that the leak did not come from the UK studio.

"All I can say is that code did not leak from Climax — 100 percent guaranteed," he said. "The code that is out there is fingerprinted and was supplied solely to Konami for marketing purposes."

It certainly might take some of the wind out of their plans to reveal the game at the Leipzig Games Convention, but honestly, they should've known that an evil like this cannot be contained for long. Now, why not release an official UMD demo of the game for those of us who can't wait until the fall to take another stroll down those foggy streets?
