Top Spin Tennis Coming To The Wii

Are you still playing tennis in Wii Sports? Wishing for some more depth? Maybe a polygonal Andy Roddick? Well, 2K Sports has just announced that they're bringing Top Spin Tennis to the Nintendo Wii! You're going to have to wait until spring of 2008 to hit the courts, but it might just be worth the wait.
Adding the Nunchuck to the controls means that you'll use the joystick to control the player and your aim, while the Wiimote is your racket and will control the style and power of your shot. There will be a bunch of different gameplay modes, including singles, doubles, mixed and non-mixed matches, exhibition, tournaments and more, with four difficulty levels and ten international venues. Up to four players can hit the courts together, but at this point, no mention of any kind of online multiplayer. They're also including "party games," but that's in addition to the main game, so don't worry about this being just another minigame collection. This looks like a full-fledged tennis game that just happens to have immersive Wiimote controls.
Take-Two is promising ten "original" characters as well as over a dozen licensed tennis stars, but no mention yet of which athletes will be included. So no, I can't promise a polygonal Andy Roddick for sure, but it was a good excuse to run a photo of him with the story!

hurray for cheap excuses to put up shirtless pics of andy roddick!
Does one need an excuse for shirtless Andy Roddick pics?
