Unlock Hard Mode In Bioshock Demo

BioshockSplicer.jpg

I had the extreme pleasure of playing the Bioshock demo the other day with Sir Fruit, and just adored the game. Every last detail was scrutinized with a very keen consistent vision. From the in-game posters done in impeccable period style to the magnificent architecture that is nothing short of Ayn Rand’s wet dream, the game is a marvel to behold. Looks aside, the gameplay is tight and offers some white-knuckle thrills.

The demo offers three difficulty levels; Easy, Medium and Hard. A romp through the first two will leave many gamers thirsting for more. Both Easy and Medium can get really hairy if you set off too many alarms, which alert an ongoing stream of splicers and flying patrol bots. After completing both, I expected the Hard difficulty to unlock, but it remained greyed out.

For those out there who think they are up to the challenge now, follow the instructions below.

Before starting the demo, go to your gamer profile in the dashboard and then change your default game settings. Go to general, then change your difficulty to hard.

Now when you start the demo, hard should be highlighted when you have the option to select your difficulty. Don't move the cursor or you will not be able to select hard again, unless you go back (B).

All I have to say is good luck to those intrepid adventurers who think they are up to snuff. Try it, and tell me what you think.
