Video: BioShock AI "EcoShock"
With a scant week and a half to go until BioShock is released, I am just beside myself. I have longed to wander the halls of Rapture ever since I saw the first screenshots of it's crumbling, art deco facade. Going to E3 and sitting next to Ken Levine as I tried out the game was an experience like no other and definitely left me wanting to play the game in it's entirety more than ever. This is the first game in a long, long time that I have been absolutely ga-ga over before its release, But, enough of my fanboy-ish ravings and on to this clip.
In this latest video, the designers of the game talk a bit about the complex AI system they have built into the game and how it works. It's quite a rich and innovative way of treating AI characters and is just one of the many things that will make BioShock stand out as on of the best games of 2007.

For some reason I'm not really interested in Bioshock - but then again, I haven't been interested in First Person Shootemup for a while. Bioshock sure does look pretty, but there doesn't seem to be much depth.
I thought Oblivion had non-scripted AI as well?
MME, you should really give this game a try. Bioshock is the "spiritual successor" to one of the best games of the last century, System Shock 2. A lot of the team developing Bioshock worked on SS2.
And I'm with you, Fruit Brute, this game has me completely enamored.

Great, now you've made me go and drool all over my keyboard.
