Video: Record Of Agarest Trailer
Not much is known about Compile Heart's adventure RPG for the PS3, Record of Agarest, but if I know my gays (and believe you me, I do), I predict at least a few of you will swoon over:
* The super-catchy J-pop (J-emo?) theme song that kicks in after the intro muzak.
* The super-cute triplet of...magical bridesmaids?
* What looks to be, from the few bits of gameplay shown, a turn-based grid battle system with at least two kinds of birds-eye-view overland movement (call me out if you see something different, but that's what it looked like to my "Eye of Judgment").
* Androgynous and only partially-clothed protagonists Reo, Hiruda, Ravina and Eris.
* Crisp and tangy PS3 graphics.
* Did I mention the magical bridesmaids?

wow, that was saccharin laced JPop/Emo/cute to the max!!
Special attacks looks awesome, but, it looks like a PS2 RPG. The PS3's gonna need some more real kick ass games to stop getting the hate from the 360 fanboiz. And are we even gonna see this game stateside?
I don't know what to think... from what I've gathered, this is a dating sim/SRPG hybrid similar to Riviera (only taking place in 5 generations), and having a cutsey boy to choose from three skanky girls isn't very appealing to me.
Also, this game is so similar to countless other B-class J-RPGs that it's sickening. XP
I wonder, if this game is coming to PS3, why don't they make bigger/better sprites? Honestly, graphics-wise this could be a PSP-game!
Well, I shouldn't care this much since this game will likely never reach the European shores... (if it ever leaves Japan, even.) ;P
Looks like it should be on the PS2 instead.
I'll have to see more gameplay before i get excited, but the music is fun and all the characters are super adorable. But yeah, it doesn't really strike me as a PS3 game.
Hey, that ring at the end. Was that...the one ring to rule them all???? ::sigh:: I am so tired of sprite based graphics. I mean, why bother releasing it on the PS3? The PS2 graphics engine could be more than enough to run that game. Not to be hating on the sprite look, but I'm BORED with it. I mean, can't we spiff it up already? Like Odin Sphere did. That was gorgeous.
And this is supposed to be the next generation? What exactly is the purpose of releasing this on the PS3? The PS2 could do all of that. Small, undetailed sprites running around on large, bland 3D environments isn't exactly impressive.
