Weekend Warriors
As you might imagine, the last few days have been rather stressful. First we were blocking the IP addresses of a rather feeble DoS. Then the hate speech started appearing all over our forums. All of this was annoying but we were handling it. However, then our hosting company stepped in to do whatever it is they had to do, and that was the reason for such a long outage. I am looking for alternatives to avoid such problems in the future. Anyone out there have rack space available for your friendly neighborhood gay gamer?
It has been suggested that all of this was a PR stunt. While that is an affront to all the turmoil we've been going through this weekend to recover the site, I must admit that all the attention suddenly turning it our direction and the overwhelming show of support by so many is richly rewarding and rather ironic considering that it was a homophobic stunt that precipitated these events. So, I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome any newcomers who have become aware of our existence due to our misfortune. We hope you will choose to stick around.

I was wondering what was wrong wih the site, I kept trying to visit over the weekend and it'd just never load. I still can't seem to access the forums, though; Are they supposed to be back up yet, or is it still being worked on?
I'm happy to see the site back up! I missed y'all over the weekend. And as for those responsible for the attacks, a fairy's curse on them! May their surgical stockings never stay up and may their consoles all fry!

I keep getting a "Invalid Request variable" error when I try to go to the forums...
You know, I hadn't realized how much I'd come to enjoy and rely on this site for gaming news until I couldn't access it. Sure, I have tons of other game sites bookmarked, but the thought that crossed my mind when I saw the site was down was, "But I want to look at the news on Gaygamerrrrrrr!" ::That's my brain whining::

I had never heard of this site until I saw a blurb about it on Joystiq last night. So I came to check it out. If it was not for your unfortunate dos attacks and the hate speech I would never have found this site. I like your content and find it very funny that the homophobic attacks brought out so much support for this site.

I know the weekend must have been quite stressful, and that it is disheartening when hateful actions occur--but as you say, some good often can come of these situations.

I was in total withdrawal all weekend, pinging and tracerouting and pulling my hair out whenever I tried to bring up a story from the RSS feed (yeah, I kept trying.) Glad you're back, and good luck finding a backup (or replacement) web host.
Saw the news on towleroad. Never heard of you and kinda thought I was the only gay gamer. Not really but sorta.
I'm here now. For good.
But, I still love my game cube.
