Weekly XBLA Update: 08/29/07

puzzlef2.jpg

Microsoft has two delicious goodies to add to the XBLA this week: Streets of Rage 2, which our darling Timsy mentioned earlier, as well as the long-expected Super Puzzle Fighter II HD Remix, which Capcom has mercifully shortened to merely Puzzle Fighter HD. Either somebody out there's taking notes, or the name of the game finally got too long to enter into one line of a memo.

SPFIITHDR, as I like to call it around the house, brings together characters from Street Fighter, Darkstalkers and other Capcom beauties in one dazzlingly addictive puzzler. Get your SPFIITHDR on in solo, local and online versus modes (or just watch the action while others duke it out).

Streets of Rage 2

To commemorate their defeat of the Syndicate exactly one year before, Blaze, Adam and Axel went out to celebrate. The next morning, however, Axel received a frantic phone call from Adam's younger brother, Eddie 'Skate' Hunter. Blaze and Axel rushed over and found Adam and Skate's house wrecked and a picture of Adam chained to a wall at the feet of Mr. X. The city was returned to its nightmarish state and criminals were once again running rampant. Unable to contact their old friend in artillery, Axel and Blaze team up with Skate and Max Thunder to free the city and rescue Adam from the Syndicate. It is up to you to take down Mr. X once and for all!. There are no refunds for this item. For more information, see www.xbox.com/live/accounts.

Aw man, I'm such a big "SPFIITHDR" (lol) fan! I wish it would get a DS release along with wifi capabilities! You win this round, XBox! =]

well they do have a GBA version Kaze. the good news is that it's pretty much an arcade port, with the addition of like a "story mode", where you can unlock costume colors and the Sakura song. None of which are on the XBLA version, grrr... however, the new X mode, as well as the Y and Z modes are great as well. I personally like the Z mode best of all. but only two colors, wtf. plus, you get achievement points for beating the game on hard, with Dan.

p.s. it's about time they friggin released it. the picture packs came out weeks ago.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
