WoW! Movie Details!

As you probably already know, the long circulating rumors of a World of Warcraft movie have come true. If that wasn't enough, details have now been given along with a release year of 2009 and a budget of over $100 million dollars. This PG-13 film will be set about one year before the start of WoW and will interweave "the story of various races, lands and a new hero into a two and a half hour feature told from the Alliance perspective." Perhaps a sequel from the perspective from the Horde might be in order? Hey come one, you know you want it.
The movie will be live action and feature "CG environments and effects." Lastly, this film will not be a adventure or quest film, but rather a war film. I'm excited already, but I want to see how this live action stuff is going to look.
A Close Look At 'Warcraft' [DarkHorizons]

Well, if we're looking at a combination of live-action and "CG environments and effects," I'd say that sounds suspiciously like "300."
Other than that, I can't say I'm too excited about this project. Plugging $100 million dollars and two-and-a-half hours into a movie based on a MMORPG sounds kinf of--I don't know--excessive.
And, hey, turns out Thomas Tull was one of the producers for "300." There you go.
as long as its better than the dungeons and dragons movies...
When I said I wondered how the live action would look, I meant I was wondering how the costume design for the various races will look if they are going to be on live actors. I'm sure the design will be fantastic with an over-bloated budget like that.
Damn Alliance.
They're racists!
