Update: Xbox 360 HD-DVD Player Now Only $150...At Best Buy
A quick trip to the forums of CheapAssGamer revealed a more significant price drop for the Xbox 360 HD-DVD player at Best Buy than the previously announced $20 price drop. Instead of being $179.99 like it is everywhere else, Best Buy is selling the nifty device for $149.99. Not too bad if you ask me and it has got me chomping at the bit to leave work and purchase it immediately in order to collect 5 of 15 free HD-DVD movies. Of course, I'd have to purchase 300, how could I not?
I have no idea how long this will last, but are you going jump at it? I can say that it is extremely likely for me, though $150 is still a bit much at the moment for this gamer.
UPDATE: It would seem Best Buy has sold out and the price has returned to $179.99. This deal died almost as fast as it started.

Not to be a Sony fanboy, and I do have both consoles, but I'd still rather have a PS3 with my hi-def capabilities built in than have an add-on to my already noisy 360. It's just a better solution, and about the same price all told. I'll stick with Blu-ray for now.
It appears they have sold out. The price is now listed at 179. short offer.
was this an online only thing? i don't recall it even happening in the actual store that i work at.
It would seem it was exclusive to the website, but I'm beginning to believe it was an error on Best Buy's part.
