Rumor: Aerosmith To Dominate Guitar Hero IV?

Sing it!

GameSpot came across an article on Billboard.com that strongly suggests Guitar Hero IV (jeebus, III isn't even out yet!!) will be "dedicated" to Aerosmith. From Billboard:

...Aerosmith is also working closely with the makers of "Guitar Hero IV," which will be dedicated to the Boston group's music. "I don't know much about the technical part of it," Perry says, "but artistically we're working hand in hand."

That is odd news considering that Red Octane have been increasing the number and variety of songs available via downloadable content and in the GH II and III track lists. Why would they reverse all of that to focus on a single band? Personally, I don't think they will in one game. It's far more likely to release it as an add-on for GH IV because I somehow don't think, as big as Aerosmith are/were, that everybody likes them. ...but those are just my two cents. What do you think?

Argh...argh argh argh.
Do they not realize Aerosmith hasn't been relevant (or worth listeing to, for that matter) since the 70's? Ugh.
And Stephen Tyler is a goul.

it doesn't matter much i guess. there is differences in tastes enough that i'm sure they aren't considering opinions on what is or isn't good music - billboard's sales records indicate what a mainstream might like?

NO. Just... NO.

Well that will be one I pass on. I could care less to see Aerosmith sell out again.

The whole game is dedicated to Aerosmith music? Why? I'm sure we can all name a dozen bands whose catalogue is far superior to Aerosmith's. God that sucks.

Yeah, everyone in my home state of Massachusetts loved Aerosmith.... in like 1982 or whenever "Greatest Hits" came out. Then they kicked the heroin and started sucking really bad.

Maybe they're featuring Aerosmith because all their crappy post-drug ballads are the exact same song and it lets them develop one level that looks like about 10.

This would be fucking awesome! Aerosmith have more than enough incredible songs to fill up Guitar Hero IV! They also have a good enough range of music to please most rock music fans. And Joe Perry as an in game character would rock!
