Codemasters Refuses To Edit Jericho For German Release

Clive_Barkers_Jericho_3.jpg

I checked out the demo of Jericho today, and I can confirm, the game is damn violent and scary. It’s terrifying and beautiful. There were guts being busted and blood splattering everywhere. Germany has demanded that Codemasters edit the game to suit their video game ratings board, who refused to rate the game in its current state.

Codemasters replied to the request:

Following a review by the USK ratings board, which declined to give an official rating, Codemasters has decided not to change the artistic vision of the renowned author and film-maker Clive Barker though cuts and extensive changes.

Rock on guys! By refusing to edit their game, Codemasters will be dropping the 360 and PS3 versions of Jericho in that region. The PC version will still be released. Both of the console versions are region-free so they can be imported. The PC demo is already available, but the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are supposed to drop this week.
