Fruit Brute Lands In Tokyo
After a fourteen and a half hour plane ride and an hour and a half bus trip, I am finally in Tokyo. Everything has been amazing so far and the hotel is pretty sweet and located right in the middle of hipster Shibuya. The conference doesn't officially start until Thursday, but I'll be doing some sightseeing until then to try and get the lay of the land. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival Tiny and our Asian correspondent/translator/photographer so the GayGamer Japanese adventure can begin in earnest. Hey are you at the Cerulean in Shibuya? I just got back from 2 weeks there. Great hotel, great location. Make SURE to check out the Iron Chef's Chinese restaurant in the hotel, "Chen." Amazing scallops. Also, ask the concierge for directions to Gonpachi - the sushi is good but the grill part of the restaurant is fabulous - its about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

Actually I was an echange student and spent a summer in Japan. I freaking loved it.
I'm so jealous! I hope you get enough time to find the closest Book Off or Sofmap and enjoy searching for random Japanese goodness.
motordog, in Tokyo! I'm quite happy with my boyfriend. But I'm sure Papa Brute's bed is very comfortable. :)

Hope you guys have a great time! Never been myself, but hope to get over there in the next few years. As a Disney geek (as well as every other kind, it seems), I have to get to DisneySEA.

I wish I was in Japan. That goes without saying. I wish I was abroad where the geek stores are with a trunkful of money to spend.

be sure to check out shibuya 109...its that big tower department store. cant miss it.
and harajuku is just one or two stops up the yamanote line...
and the ginormous multi-story arcades. try to win something out of the UFO catcher...the classier ones bring you a bag and congratulate you when you win! ^_^
