Guitar Hero DS: Expect Periphery

cat-guitar.jpg

I know Texans love their tall tales (and I love some tail from tall Texans), but this is just too much: the hot news out of Austin GDC has developer Vicarious Visions stating that the recently-confirmed Guitar Hero DS will not use the DS stylus. Instead, the DS version of the series will use an as-yet-undisclosed accessory. Take that, Jam Sessions!

Instead, expect to wail away on a custom peripheral accessory that design manager Adrian Earle says we'll "absolutely love." The design isn't finalized just yet, but Earle reassured the good folks at GAF that the visuals are relatively consistent with the rest of the series - so we know we're not in for some kind of cutesy Animal Crossing -inspired visual redesign. That's good, because the game will carry the visual brand of the series no matter what new-fangled tool we're using...

I'm hoping it's one of my Tiny Guitars - shipping now at low low prices from Tiny's Patented Assembly Facility on Sweatshop Island!
