Guitar Hero III Wii Rumbles & Squeals

As just about anyone who's played a Guitar Hero game on both the PS2 and Xbox 360 will happily tell you (at length, in some cases), the Guitar Hero experience absolutely hinges upon the guitar peripheral. Some who were raised on the PS2's monochromatic axe found the pointy-shaped "360 beige" guitar awkward. Others preferred it. Some bemoaned the awkward positioning of the D-pad and Start/Select buttons.
I wonder what we'll say when Guitar Hero III for the Wii asks us to "stick it in." As your deductive powers may have already concluded, pictured here is the Wii peripheral - which connects to (and encloses) the Wiimote. While it's the same basic shape of the Les Paul Gibson that accompanies the 360 and PS3 versions of Guitar Hero III, the Wii's wireless peripheral includes an analog stick - since the Wiimote will be tucked inside the guitar and therefore unable to point at the screen.
So the Wiimote takes over a lot of the business-end stuff - it becomes the motion sensor for Star Power - and it adds some perks the 360 and PS3 guitars won't. Like rumble. IGN took it for a spin and found that "you really could feel the guitar shake to the beat when you rocked out."
Also, since the face of the Wiimote will be accessible through a panel on the front of the guitar (make the jump to see what I mean), the guitar will squeal like a stuck pig when you monkey around with the wrong notes. This feature can be turned off, but I love the idea of hearing my opponent's guitar squeal instead of the whole setup - no more wondering whether I screwed up or he did.

Looks nifty. Sounds like I'll be spending a paycheck on this one.
Of course, the Wii fake guitar will cost the same as the other fake guitars despite having a lot fewer parts in it.
Oh so very pretty!

..actually, it's cheaper than the 360 and ps3 versions. unfortunately for nintendo, the sweet visuals won't be available in the wii title... the graphics aren't the main part of guitar Hero. but even so, i hope nintendo doesn't "dumb down" or "kiddy up" any of the features we've all come to know and love about guitar hero. (although if I could play as a kick-ass version of Link, that would be pretty sick!)
