Poke-money In The Bank For Nintendo

In the category of News That Makes You Go "Duh!", Nintendo sent out a press relase revealing the shocking fact that Pokémon is popular. No, really popular. Who knew, right?
Apparently, Pokémon Diamond is the best-selling game of the year so far, with Pearl falling in at number three. (So what was number two, I wonder?) And Pokémon Battle Revolution is already at number five on the top-selling Wii games (less impressive because of the lack of competition, but still). Diamond and Pearl have sold more than 3 million copies in the US alone, not counting the rest of the free world. Nintendo also says that the Pokémon games have helped boost sales of the Wii and DS (like they weren't already going to be the best-selling consoles anyway).
"These hard numbers show that the Pokémon franchise and Nintendo's systems are striking a chord with players of all ages and drawing in huge numbers of new players year after year," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "But anecdotally we're also seeing that these new Pokémon games are appealing to older players, the same ones who played the original Pokémon games when they debuted in the United States almost 10 years ago."
Well, it's good to know I'm not the only 30-something who's still trying to catch 'em all. Only on the DS, though. I'm still waiting patiently for Nintendo to release a proper Pokémon game on a home console. None of this "Coliseum" crap. I mean, come on!

My ex is 14 years older then me, she writes for Pojo's Pokemon section.
I agree with you. Make a for-real Pokemon game on the console.
I want to catch 'em all on a home console, rather than just save them from the darkness or whatever crap that they have come up with.
if a pokemon game hit the home console. thats like super super big news. like so big. crazy big. it'll be like new year's.
