PS3 Backwards Compatiblity Site Online

The biggest reason I'm wary of getting a 80gB PS3 is the emulated backward compatibility. As a self proclaimed 360 fan-boy, I've seen how terrible software emulation can be for legacy software. Some of my fears have been mostly quelled with the recent update to 1.92 firmware Sony Computer Entertainment of America has also released a PS3 Compatibility Search Engine.
This handy tool allows you to specify which console you own and what game you would like to know about. There is an unfortunate lack of a raw list for those of us that might want to simply get an overview of what titles we will be able to play. Sony also mentioned that they will be working with publishers to come up with solutions for 3rd party peripheral compatibility. I know more than a few of us have been angered by the lack of Guitar Hero compatibility. Our very own Fruit Bruit was burned by this recently. Hopefully this doesn't mean that we're going to have to buy entirely new hardware to play these titles.

This is one of the PS3's features that really left me scratching my head. When my friend bought a PS3 he had to get the special PS2 memory card uplinky thingy, and you cannot get saves back onto the card. Once you load em onto the PS3 you have to decide which system you want to play on (no cross talking for PS2 saves).
I wish Sony would have done what the PS2 and Wii did with direct interface with old hardware. That was so awesome! Alas, this is only one of the many reasons I don't see myself shelling out $600+ for a PS3 any time soon.
Old news bonehead. Love how your site just rehashes other site's news. What's interesting about you being gay and playing games if all you do is report on other site's news reporting.
@FriskyApple
"you cannot get saves back onto the card."
they actually fixed this in a recent firmware update, so you should be fine to transfer back and forth.
