Sex Pistols Reunited For Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock

For the upcoming release of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Activision has managed a significant reunion of one of the definitive punk bands of all time. The Sex Pistols have been reunited to re-record “Anarchy in the U.K,” for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Nearly 30 years after the release of “Never Mind the Bollocks”, the original members John Lydon a.k.a. Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, and Paul Cook are reunited for the first time since the release of their seminal album. The group teemed up with the original producer Chris Thomas and the original analog sound deck, built in 1969, was used to recreate the feel of the original recording.
Guitarist Steve Jones commented on this momentous occasion:
“It was great for Guitar Hero to, in a way, get us back in the studio. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but it actually turned out great and I think everyone held their own. I like [Guitar Hero] because my friends' kids like it. And I like what kids like.”
To seal the deal with Activision, they will be sponsoring the upcoming Sex Pistols’ concert in London at the Brixton Academy on November 8th. Congrats to anyone who managed to snag tickets to that show, I’m sitting here in the States green with envy. Hey guys, how about a reunion tour?
