Star Ocean 4 Details Revealed
I am begrudgingly a fan of nearly everything Tri-Ace has produced. Star Ocean has essentially been the series to play if you like space drama as well as RPGs. Being one of the first games to have a real-time fighter style battle system it has also proven to be one of the most unique series in the RPG genre.
In the most recent issue of Famitsu, developers Tri-Ace revealed some details on the upcoming release of Star Ocean 4 (tentatively titled). Set to take place in the same universe as the previous titles. Unlike previous titles, while nearly always secluded the main characters to a single planet (by crash landing or other various plot devices) this installment will allow players to freely explore the universe. Assistant producer Hajime Kojima also went on to discuss further details.
"In the previous games, the story pretty much progressed due to a chain reaction of events. Your ship crashes and so you were forced to explore that planet, then get rescued later and so forth. But in SO4, we made it possible for players to travel and explore different parts of the universe."
The game will follow two childhood friends and crew mates Edge Maverick and Reimi, following a similar formula of two male / female duo as the previous title. A lot still is unknown about the title. No indications of which system it is slated for has been announced.

Oh man! Sweet! Me and a few co-workers were talking about SOTEOT today, and im pretty hyped for a new one. It's one of my faves ;)
Lets hope the main character is as cute as Fayt ;)
