TGS 07: Cooking Mama 2
Here you see (finally) Asian Reporter Takashi Takanawa - AKA TanookiBallz - getting some hands-on instruction for Cooking Mama 2 for the DS... from Mama herself! My sweaty palms couldn't quite cut the mustard corn, and the game was in Japanese, so it was the perfect opportunity for Asian Reporter Takashi Takanawa to bust out his chops - and chop some onion.
Cooking Mama 2 will hit both the Wii and the DS in early 2008, for Japan at least - a North American release has yet to be dated.
The gameplay remains essentially the same, but the number of recipes and minigames has doubled, and there's now an online multiplayer cook-off mode, which IMHO is the most exciting aspect of this sequel to the original surprisingly popular "domestic servitude simulator." (I'm looking at you, Wootini!) Of course, new recipes and new mechanics mean we'll be cooking long into the night, but there's nothing like the notion of competitive cooking to arouse my interest!
