TGS 07: THREE New Kingdom Hearts Games
Do you like Disney? Do you like Square Enix? Do you like Kingdom Hearts? Chances are, if you’re reading this site, you’ve answered “yes” to all three questions, or are preparing a sassy email reproaching me for even daring to question thy loyalty to the hearts o’ the kingdom. (Down boy, I'm kidding. I'm sure there are 2.4 of us out there who don't feel this way...)
It’s a good time to be a Kingdom Hearts fan: Square announced yesterday the conception of two new Kingdom Hearts games and revealed another, one each for the DS, the PSP, and mobile phone platforms. All will share the theme of “time,” which is vague but cool-sounding. The bizarrely-named Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days brings 3D action to the DS with four-way multiplayer starring Kingdom Hearts II’s Roxas, or a very similar character, while Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep will see PS2-style single-player KH action RPG-ness brought to the little Sony screen on the PSP. Lastly and most likely leastly, Kingdom Hearts: Coded is headed to the mobile phone gaming platform, and could certainly do a lot to expand and expound upon mobile gaming’s third or fourth chance at success.
Very little else is known at the moment, but having a Kingdom Hearts title to look forward to is a staple of modernity, wouldn’t you say? At a show dominated by amazing-looking Square Enix games that are already developed and playable, it’s a strong sign that two mere announcements and one incremental reveal can overshadow the rest of the Square catalog.

YEAH!!!! A NEW KH!!!!! I'm very very very very heppy about it, and what is most important.... on my beloved PSP!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!
I was wondering why you hadn't published this news. I thought maybe you didn't like the Kingdom Hearts franchise. I feel sad though, seeing how they are scattering the series through all these different systems, but oh well.
I'm really not a big fan of Kingdom Hearts :(
looks like ill be getting a psp afterall.... damned sony >:O
This is great news and all, but I'm getting immensely annoyed by all these mobile phone-only games that are being made from franchises that I like.
First there was that FFVII one and now this.
How many customers do they really expect to get with that.
And even if it was necesairy, why can't they just release a port to the DS or PSP?
wow I think I just threw up a lil... yeah I did. It's amazing how Kingdom hearts sequels have that power over me. I loved the first one and even KH:COM but I can't even look at another one after playing KH2 :(
I'm a sad little Brer Dan.
Me wants to play Kingdom Hearts sooooo much, but I refuse to buy a console JUST for that purpose....and I don't have a PS2, PS3, or PSP.
Why oh why does the DS game have to be a Crystal Chronicles style multi-player? I'm a 34 year old man--I don't HAVE anyone to play multiplayer with. It's like the GBA game--I don't want to play Yugi-Oh style card games. Argh.
I would be oh-so-happy with a toned-down graphics or 2-D graphics version of a NORMAL approach Kingdom Hearts game.
I will be ever-so-happy if they would just PORT the original two games over to the Wii or 360. Pretty please? With gobs of whipped cream which I will personally lick off?
Well, the first game was fun, even though the story didn't really make a whole lot of sense; Chain of Memories was not fun and didn't make any sense at all, and Kingdom Hearts II was fun to play but continued to make the story even harder to follow. Can't say I'm looking forward to these new titles terribly much. Also, the fact that they're spreading the games out over all these systems is annoying.
I do not like Disney, Square, or Kingdom Hearts.
so let me get this straight, the one with boobies is Roxas? i could have sworn on the video at the end of KH2, that one of the three knights that appeared had a more female figure. which led most people to believe that it would be Kairi. and what's the deal with Roxas and Sora existing at the same time anyway? it would be like Superman and Clark Kent dancing together at prom, in the netherlands.
