Video: Disgaea: Afternoon Of Darkness Etna Mode
What with the new PSP Slim I snapped up immediately after returning from Tokyo, (expect my impressions of the feather-light new model soon), I'm even more excited about the long-awaited arrival of Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness to the PSP. Of all the Nippon Ichi/Atlus style grid-based, turn-based, squad-based tactical combat games, the dark humor of Disgaea calls to me the loudest. With such great but time-intensive gameplay, I always feel pressured to pick one out of the crowd: do I want to play Final Fantasy Tactics Advance or La Pucelle? Ogre Tactics or Level 5's Jeanne D'Arc?
My usual answer? "Disgaea, that's what I want, only I want it in my hand."
As of October 30, my wish will be granted! Check out this trailer for the new "Etna Mode," which sees Laharl's demonic sidekick take center stage for some serious clobbering. If you squint your eyes you can pretend she's a cute emo demon boy. Why not?

Did that say Sexy Beam?
