Video: Left 4 Dead Interview
Left 4 Dead's gameplay reminds me a lot of the now-defunct City of the Dead, particularly in the way which players will be given the ability to assume the role of those icky zombies. Graphically, this doesn't look like anything to write home about -though it certainly doesn't look bad by any stretch of the imagination- but the frantic nature of the game's action combined with the random placement of enemies seems like it'll get a lot of replay from people when it comes out.
Still, I won't be impressed until I see all the cool mini-games that City of the Dead contained. Shooting zombies? Always fun. Shooting a rolling can of propane to take out as many zombies as you can with one shot? Absolutely brilliant.
