Video: Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games
Okay, I admit it. I still get a little fanboy zing deep inside when I see Sonic and Mario standing next to each other. Don't judge me!
Here's the trailer for the upcoming Wii and DS title Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games. It's, um, about Mario and Sonic, and they're at the Olympics. Pretty straightforward, really. Each one has brought their supporting cast, and they battle it out in various Olympic events. It's all CGI, so there's no gameplay shown, but though I've no doubt this title will simply be another collection of mini-games, the variety of sports has me hopeful for some innovative use of the Wiimote and DS stylus. Obviously, running will likely entail flailing about with the Wiimote and Nunchuck like a heavy metal drummer on speed, but hopefully stuff like archery and ping pong will add some variety to keep our arms from getting sore from all that frantic flailing.
And Yoshi vs. Tails in ping pong? Awesome.

LOL yay Shadow, Tails, Knuckles and Yoshi isnt that like heaven in a game i hope sonic is in Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Is it fair for Sonic to race Mario? Sonic's main quality is that he is fast. They should even the odds and give the Olympics a novel plumbing competition. That is where Mario will shine (even though Mario's history as a plumber is just that, history. I have never seen him unclog a toilet).
Too bad it's not gonna be for the winter games, would love to get into a heated curling match!

Agh, double post! The shame.... -.-
I got that fanboy zing too ;)
For me, it feels like an end of an era to see Sonic and Mario stand together. The age of Mascots have truly gone. It's sad in a way, as the days of seeing Sonic and Mario together have finally happened.
There is only one way that Sonic doesn't beat Mario in every sport (unless its pie eating) and that is if they go the JLA/Avengers team up route and have Sonic's speed for some reason not as potent in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Too bad the Wii can't produce those graphics....wonder if they did it on a PS3?
