Video: Nights: Journey Of Dreams Trailer
After being burned by the Sega CD and the 32X (don't laugh — I wasn't the only one!), I gave the Saturn a pass, so I missed out on Nights Into Dreams, but I know how popular it was, and how its dedicated fans were desperate for a sequel. Well, it didn't happen on the Dreamcast, but it's finally landing on Nintendo's Wii, which makes a lot of sense considering how natural it seems to use motion control to fly.
Nights: Journey Of Dreams is also a perfect fit on the kid-friendly console, as this trailer shows. It basically looks like footage for a Disney movie cut in with crazy psychedelic flying sequences. (Shots of kids running along the ground collecting glowy spheres are significantly less thrilling) And the color scheme looks like it'll give Eternal Sonata a run for its money with the eye-meltingly gorgeous scenery. Take a look for yourself, and then try to wait until November!

Awww maaan, why are the kids running around getting treasure chests and chucking balls at crap?
If they turn this into another crappy Sonic Team platformer (albeit with awesome flight bits interspersed throughout) THE WORLD WILL DISOWN YOU FOR THE LAST TIME, SEGA!
Apart from that awesome trailer, thanks for posting it here!
Not my kind of game, but its definitely got that Disney magic feeling to it which could probably be a blast. :)
You didn't get burned on the Sega CD if you bought a) Sonic CD or b) any Working Designs titles - this was when anything remotely Japanese was barely making it to the US, and those titles alone were worth it.
You were in awesome game heaven if you got into the import scene with the Saturn. So many cool games...
Oh and dear lord, did that trailer ever make me excited. Games like NiGHTS are what make people crazy Sega fanatics despite the low points they sometimes find themselves in. Loved everything about the game, from the fact that the whole aspect was a distillation of a basic game concept executed fantastically, to the almost abstract way the cut scenes played out - no dialog! Art direction was off the charts... it used to be Sega did great stuff like this all the time (especially around the Dreamcast era), which kind of makes their more recent attempts all the more depressing.

Actually, despite being pretty good with spatial relationships in general, I have a hard time wrapping my mind around how, exactly, the Wii controls will work in three dimensions. Or perhaps, I should say, the only way I can see it happening makes heavy use of the non-motion controls which seems to undercut the main advantage of the control scheme.
I don't know. Maybe I'm just not getting something since I still haven't been able to get one myself and have to rely on a few short experiences with other people's Wiis. (God, there's really no way to write that sentence that doesn't sound dirty.)
