8-Bit Belmont Figure As Pre-order Incentive

Publishers are beginning to see that solid pre-order incentives will drum up guaranteed sales upon launch. The more elaborate the gift, the more willing consumers will be to put money down on an upcoming game. Take for instance the Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin pre-order package, with the art book, soundtrack CD, stylus and game case, and timeline poster. Fanboys and girls went nuts over this package, and frankly who could blame ‘em?
For the upcoming Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles, Gamestop is giving away an 8-bit Belmont figurine as a pr-eorder bonus. This pack-in may not be as elaborate as the Portrait of Ruin package, but the real treats are on the inside. Within the game is the original Rondo of Blood for PC Engine, which was never released in the States. Also you get the original Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PS1. All of this for $30.

have we confirmed that the Symphony of the Night remake is just the PS1 version? There was some speculation that it may be a port of the Saturn version with a. Updated translation, which if I recall had more characters and familiars.
Or I'm totally wrong, and it wouldn't be the first time.
I'm not sure which version of the game this new port is based off of, but I recall reading something about optimizing it for the PSP's screen ratio, and also doing new voice-overs because the old ones were really, really bad (can't say I disagree with that). There might be other new stuff in there as well, I'm not sure. Unfortunately, the game's gotten only mixed reviews so far. Apparently you have to play through and beat the remade Rondo of Blood part to even access the Symphony of the Night part (and from what I've read, Rondo of Blood is really frustratingly hard). I actually canceled my preorder for this game and put it on Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions, but I may end up getting Castlevania at some point in the future if the reviews begin to turn more positive.
