A Little Halloween Cuteness Is Good For You

While I was taking photos of an event in Champaign, IL, I came across a great homemade costume adorning the kid pictured here. It turns out the kid, whose name is Mario, is a video game fiend (which is a habit he inherited from his dad, along with an original NES system) and is named Mario.
Even cooler? The guy dressed in the nerdware behind him was going for the look of a kid from an old school Zelda commercial. I felt like it was a proud moment for gamers everywhere.

My boss' son came into work today dressed as Mario. He was running around saying "woo-hoo!", "it's-a me, Mario!", and "Let's-a go!"
I never wanted to have kids until I saw that. Now I'm gonna turn into a lesbian soccer mom...great.
Yesterday I helped at my niece's class party, and while we were watching the "parade" (just the kids in costumes wandering around the school) I saw a kindgergardner (maybe first grade, either way he was like 2 feet tall) who was dressed as Link, it was super cute. He even had the shield.
I never realised until just now,but this ad is despiccable! On top of "Bug your parents to buy you an NES" it has the covert message "nerds and jocks can only be friends because the nerd always has the newest games and lets the jock solo it while he watches pretending to enjoy himself". And later that day on the baseball field, the nerd gets beaten up by the jock and his buddies.
Sorry guys, didn't wanna ruin the spirit. Guess I get cranky when I sleep more than 10 hrs...
^^ did that commercial open up some bad memories for ya there?
that kid who dressed up as the nerd from the zelda commercial is pure greatness... that is awesome... like wooow... totally awesome graphics!
So cute. Back in the day I also dressed up as Mario just like that. Ah, memories.
