Assassin's Creed Gets The Midas Touch

Assassin's Creed

After working on the game for nearly four years, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed has gone gold and is set to launch on November 13, 2007 in North America (11/16/2007 for Europe). This is one of the most anticipated titles for the holiday season. I know I will certainly think about getting it myself. You will be able to buy the game for either the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360. How many of you are planning on buying this?

I have it preordered...but rumor has it (and i hope it's not true) that the game is sub-par. I'll wait for the reviews come release day and make my decision based on that, because there are plenty of other games vying for my wallet.

With a main character that looks extremely HOT. This looks to be a must buy. OH and gameplay from the vids looks amazing as well!!!

I recently saw it being played at a con and it did leave me very underwhelmed. Something about the gameplay just seemed lacking.
I'm also iffy about the whole sci-fi element that is supposedly involved in the storyline. Not that I would mind it, but originally the game was put forth as being historically accurate. So it kinda grates me.
I'll still get it though, but then I'm a bit of a collectionist with videogames.

I'm really looking forward to this game...it just seems like a well-designed, pretty, immersive game, one where you can spend hours sneaking around a city. I know there are some concerns about shitty AI though. I was surprised this had gone gold as I thought they were still working out the kinks.

Definitely on my radar, but I'll probably wait for favorable reviews before plunking down my cash.

Highly anticipated, however.

I don't buy anything until I read reviews, especially at the price that games are now. Also, I learned from Heavenly Sword not to trust any of the pre-release videos, the only true test is once the game is the hands of the consumer.

This is one of those games that's going to get pushed into 2008 for me. I have too many other games taking higher priority.

Also, the more I see gameplay videos, the more I see some type of "Matrix"-esque element or story wrapper. Why bother making this game look as realistic as possible only to have the story ruin it by saying that "it's all been VR!!!1!!!eleven!"

The only thing pushing me to buy this sooner rather than later is the limited edition with the Penny Arcade comic stuff and figure.

it was the sci-fi element that drew me into this game. i loved the concept of a painstakingly detailed historically accurate story as a veneer for a sci-fi story that will unfold in the future.

the control scheme for the game seems a bit odd though

Yeah, the controls sound kinda strange, but the producers say (not that they are to be trusted) that it is one of the revolutionary points in the game. if it lives up to the hype it will be a great game. i plan to buy it the day it comes out if possable.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
