Halo Film Director Opens His Mouth Wide
Creativity Online had a chance to interview the man who was slated to direct the movie based on Halo and ask him a few questions. Director Neill Blomkamp, who worked on the three live action Halo-based shorts (link provided here by EvilAvatar), says that Peter Jackson was waiting until after Halo 3 came out to reconsider the Halo movie project. Halo 3 has sold far better than anyone's expectations.
However, any of you hoping that those shorts were perhaps early work on the film, you will be disappointed. Blomkamp said to Creativity Online that "those pieces have zero to do with the film." In short, he was asked but Bungie and Microsoft to do them as part of the promotional stuff because he knew everyone at Bungie. Blomkamp thought it would be fun and said yes.
