My Wii Jacket Leaves Me Cold

WiiJacket.jpg

I'm still waiting for my promotional feather stylus, even though I finished Phantom Hourglass ages ago, but Nintendo just dropped a couple of Wii Jackets into my mailbox today. And all I have to say is... seriously? No, seriously?

I don't see how these things are supposed to protect anything. I slipped it over my Wiimote (following the illustrated step-by-step instructions included for the extremely stupid), and immediately found the controller heavier and not as comfortable to hold. It's curved for your grip, but there's a little width at the bottom that doesn't quite work for me. And that big lumpy mess at the top? Not really that soft. I whacked my bf in the head with it, and he didn't seem to appreciate it very much, so I don't think it's that much softer than the hard plastic shell of the Wiimote on its own.

Honestly, I don't understand the whole concept behind these "jackets." It's costing Nintendo a butt-ton of money, but why? I mean, I'm no lawyer, but I can't imagine any potential lawsuits over broken TV's or bloody noses would've really cost Nintendo anything, right? Hey, at least I didn't have to pay for the things. Which is good, because after trying it out, I doubt I'm actually going to use them!

I can't believe you got them so fast. I just now received my replacement straps and had ordered them as soon as they were available.

Maybe today will be a magical day and both my Wiimote jackets, and GOW demo will show.

Oh and for Michael-sama the link is:

I'll tell you what you will use...Have you got the locking straps yet? Those are actually nice, and you can't beat free. You put them on and they STAY. Plus they're definitely stronger, I actually feel confident that the little strap won't break if the Wiimote ever slips.

Yes, I also prefer playing with my Wii bareback.

What?

i've never used the straps...i dont get why they would fly out of people hands.
i thought the larger top on the wii jacket was for when you hold it sideways so you'd get a better grip. lol still looks silly though.

The "big lumpy mess at the top" is also for when idiots accidentally toss their Wiimote at the screen....it's more likely to bounce off than it is to go through it.

I kind of like how it covers the connector on the bottom when you don't have the nun chuck or classic controller plugged in.

I don't blame Nintendo for covering their asses for the upcoming holiday season when people are likely to get a new HDTV along with their Wii.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
