Penny Arcade Announces Dates For PAX 2008

Considering this summer's Penny Arcade Expo 2007 was "the largest game festival in North America," news that PAX will be returning in 2008 isn't exactly shocking, but it's still good to hear. Exhibitor packets have just been made available and public registration won't start until January, so beyond the dates, August 29, 30, and 31, specific details are scant. Robert Khoo, Penny Arcade's Director of Business Management, assures that we should expect the same gamer-centered atmosphere.
"PAX has always been about community, and I think that was really reflected in the overall vibe of the show. PAX celebrates what it means to be a gamer, and walking onto the show floor gives you this sense of kinship ... it just feels right."
Highlights of last year's show included a Wil Wheaton keynote address, 1UP Yours Live, where the creators of the popular podcast recorded an episode of the show in front of a live audience, and this hat. Oh, and bunches and bunches of playable games.
The Lectric Lich was kind enough to share his impressions of PAX 2007 last summer. Attendance next year is expected to be "forty seven million bajillion people," so, you know, hotels will probably fill up pretty fast. PAX is on my personal list for next year, assuming I can swing airfare or buy some rocket boots before the end of August.
