Rumorama: Psychonauts 2 Could Be Coming...
Most are in agreement that Double Fine's upcoming Brütal Legend is going to sell like hotcakes. It has marketing potential written all over it from the metal soundtrack, the hellish setting and Jack Black voicing the lead. I don't think they will run into the same problem they had with Psychonauts when they couldn't figure out how to get people to buy it.
When all hope has been lost for a sequel of a beloved franchise, a simple banner may point the way. On Double Fine's projects page, below the link for Brütal Legend, there is a rather cryptic sign with Raz and the Psychonauts logo, with big white letters reading 'Coming Soon'. What could that possibly mean, a sequel for next gen consoles? A port of the original? An animated film? Or how about a Whispering Woods theme park/summer camp where you can relive the adventure one summer at a time?
Woo Woo! Psychonauts 2? [Rock, Paper, Shotgun]

If you've been to the website any time recently, you'll know that that logo's been there for ever.
I can only hope.
I predict a Wii version developed outside of Double Fine's large-ish small studio. Don't ask me why.
I've got my fingers crossed as much as you do, Toots.
Psychonauts is another of these games that people seem to have such a boner for; they constantly talk about it on forums and on sites like this. Under appreciated this, brilliant that. So I actually played the game and found it to be a fairly standard, relatively forgettable platform game. The graphics were ok, the voice acting was alright, nothing special. I just didn't feel compelled to continue playing it beyond the first couple hours. I really just don't see what people seem to think is so special about this game.
Unfortunately over at Gamespot, they have a quote from Tim Schafer that they are making a new page for the old game. I love this game & would be ecstatic if a new one was announced.
My first post! Yay.
