Rumorama: Perfect Dark 2?
I think Mondays are always a great time for rumors, both because nothing's happened yet and because we all need a little hope to get us through the week. This time? The gossip at the digital water cooler today points to CVG's speculation regarding Perfect Dark 2 for the 360:
A super-secret insider source at Rare claims those Rare Brits (Welsh Rarebits?) is slaving away at a sequel to the N64's hit Perfect Dark, with something for us to take a gander at before the end of 2008. Look forward to that.
Rather than a post-facto prequel like Perfect Dark Zero, the new game is rumored to be an actual sequel, with protagonista Joanna Dark descending into a more adult, grittier world, with "tints of grey surrounding all the characters." I hope that's a figure of speech. Also in the mix appears to be a morality system that branches the story, which plays a heavier role in this rumored version, and includes multiple endings.
Will Microsoft strongarm corporate pseudopod Rare into rushing this one like Perfect Dark Zero? Is the story even true? Only you can find out: by waiting.

A morality system? Jeeze, isn't that becoming somewhat played-out? Well, ok, maybe that's not the right choice of words....more like, nobody has been able to do it particularly well.
Oh well, hopefully better than Zero.
