Saturday Morning Cartoons: Video Power
This morning it's therapy time. For a lot of us who grew up in the early 90s, there was a show that did terrible things to us—things we probably don't want to remember—and its time to come to terms with that. Even though it's long since passed on, the scars still linger. It was called Video Power, wherein a pair of fakey, fast-talking, Vanilla-Ice-looking hosts talked hip while trying to make a game show out of the best games 1991 had to offer. Drink milk, don't do drugs, and play ninja turtles, that was pretty much the gist. What you might not remember, though, is that the show was painful, like straight brain-poison through the tear duct BAD. But now it's time to face that abuse. We've got an episode of Video Power right here and it wants to talk. Let the healing begin.
The Tear-Jerking Conclusion
Wow, if those prizes aren’t some of the most forgettable games the 90s had to offer! Take that 90s kid!

Oh, My, God!
That was beyond horribly frightening...
and it's not even halloween yet!
How can i stop my brain from bleeding??!!
Was this the same show where kids had to crawl through a maze and find the right things to stick to themselves to win the grand prize?
K, nvm. I missed the second video.
heh the host plays Pete McGonagal on 'Brotherhood'
Does anyone remember the earlier version of this show that featured a cartoon instead of the game show portion? I seem to remember it was mostly a rip off of Captain N but with lesser known video game characters, like Kwirk (think Lolo but red instead of blue) a basket ball player (I think from arch rivals) and the hero from Wizards and Warriors. It was by no means good, but not nearly as painful as the game show version of the program.
Dispite how cheesey and TMNT-ified/80's-fied, they really did know the games of their time....definitely well enough to put the G4 shows of today to shame. But I still remember how disappointed I was when they stopped airing it.
