Smash Bros. Delayed in the US: I Blame Sonic.

getouttheway.jpg

There was much rejoicing yesterday with the confirmation that Sonic would be joining the fold of combatants in Super Smash Bros. Brawl yesterday. Also the buzzing around the blogotubes was the news that the game would be delayed in Japan. This news came as somewhat of a shock but it left me feeling much like some of my fellow Americans, How does this affect me?

Well, turns out the delay in Japan was sent shock waves across the board. It was confirmed today that Super Smash Bros. Brawl is in fact delayed in the US. Rumors had surfaced after the release date was changed to a ominous TBA. It is now slated for February 10, 2008. I guess we will have to wait just a bit longer to lay the smack down on our friend and family. If only they would have added Shadow the Hedgehog. I would totally have laid into him for that turd of a PS2 game I was subjected to. Watermelons and Handguns. Seriously, what were they thinking?

Honestly, I'm fine with this. There are already a plethora of quality holiday titles. Come February, it will be awesome having SSBB hit in what is normally a huge six-month lull in terms of A-material video game releases.

Plus, it hits 4 days before V-Day. Given the system's online capabilities, it might be possible to hold a GayGamer Valentine's Day Tournament of Doom or something like that.

Dissapointed. I also think its a big mistake to miss out the holiday period with this game. But better do it right than never, and as MuddBstrd there are so many games already.

How do u guys have the time and money to play all these!!! :D

That is such a wonderful idea (and it made me crack up a lot). Hopefully people see it and make it a reality~

I think it might have been delayed not to include Sonic, and not to prevent a split in sales between this and Mario Galaxy, but to smooth the hackles of the third party developers screaming "One triple-A game at Xmas wasn't enough for you?!"

Anyway, I'm just glad they didn't delay Galaxy since that's the one I was going to buy to begin with. Now maybe I'll get both.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
