T3 Gadget Awards

UK website T3 has announced its winners of the 2007 Gadget Awards, and there are a few videogame victors, and at least one spark to start a flame war (please don't!).
The DS Lite won the "Sieze The Second" Award for being the best way to wile away those stray moments where you actually find yourself not doing anything, and Brain Training was awarded Best Gadget For Silver Surfers, which I totally don't understand. Must be a British expression. Also, The Gadget Candy "One For The Ladies" Trophy was given to the Nintendo Wii. Because I guess it's not as butch as the 360 and the PS3. Poor thing.
Interestingly, the Xbox 360 walked off with Best Gaming Gadget for being a kick-ass gaming machine, but Gadget Of The Year went to Sony's PS3. So how come?
"We say this," declares the site. "The PS3 doesn't so much move the goalposts for gadgets as hack them down and use them to build a very small shed with. In that shed is kept multimedia functionality the Xbox 360 can only dream of: One of the best Blu-Ray players to date, brilliant synergy with the PSP, and, just over the horizon, a stream of top add-ons such as the TV tuner."
Nice. See Sony, your multimedia do-everything set-top-box strategy is being recognized and awarded! Unfortunately, if you actually want to play games, the 360 still seems like the place to go!

Silver Surfers is a term used here for the online senior citizen demographic.
Well, now see, that makes sense, now that you say that. Silver Surfers. Heh. That's cute. Thanks!
T3 is one of a host of gadget magazines in the UK that feature blank looking ladies in bikinis holding various phones and ipods.
Their fingernails are always too long to actually press any buttons.
They are aimed at the very much core heterosexual gaming demographic... it's all POWER and POLYGONS.
I never really got it but I was in the States a few years ago and found what appeared to be a gay take on a gadget mag.
Shirtless hottie strapped up in this seasons must have belts and festooned with mp3 players... THEN I got it!
Nintendo Wii as the 'One for the Ladies Gadget' was funny.
But I don't think it meant the Wii is the console for the ladies out of the 3, but that is the only console accessible to the Ladies.
